App Store creative asset sizes: cheat sheet

iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 add two new image placements to the App Store: a header at the top of your product page, and a creative asset under your app in search results. Each has its own size, aspect ratio and safe area, and a third universal size can fill both.
This page lists all of them side by side. Every number is measured from the official templates or quoted from the specifications page.

Rules that apply to every size
- No transparency: images can't include alpha channels.
- One image per placement covers iPhone and iPad in every orientation. There are no device-specific sizes.
- Keep text, logos and the focal point inside the safe area, since the edges can be clipped.
- You can localize assets, and any text in them should be translated for every language your app supports.
Questions
- Which size should I use?
- Use the dedicated sizes (21:9 header and 3:2 search results) if you want the most room in each safe area. Use the universal 16:9 size if you want a single image for both.
- Is there a file size limit?
- The specifications don't state one for header or search result images.
- Which iOS versions show these images?
- iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 or later, on iPhone and iPad.
