Upload header images in App Store Connect
Updated
Once your images are ready, adding them takes a few minutes. Creative assets are part of your product page information, so they go through review and go live with your version, or on their own through Asset Library.
Steps
- In Apps, select the app you want to view.
- In the sidebar, click the app version under the platform you want.
- Under Product Page Information, click the Header and Search Results tab, then click Header or Search Results, depending on which asset you want to add.
- Drag your image or video asset into the well, or, to use an asset already in Asset Library instead, click Browse Assets.
- In the dialog that appears, select the asset you want to use on the App Store, then click Save.
- Submit your version for review as usual. After your version is approved and released, the creative assets on your product page header and in search results also go live on the App Store.
Without releasing a new version
You can submit creative assets as a standalone submission through Asset Library, without updating your app version. Standalone assets are reviewed against your app's latest version. That means you can change your header for a season or a campaign without shipping an update.
Check it before it goes live
Select Preview in App Store Connect to see the assets on the product page and in search results, on iPhone and iPad, across orientations and languages. It's the only way to see exactly how much of your image is visible on each device, so check it for every language you upload.
Questions
- How do I use the same image for the header and search results?
- Upload a universal creative asset (5244 x 2950 pixels PNG) as the header, then select "Use header asset in search results". This option is only available for universal assets.
- Do creative assets need review?
- Yes. They're reviewed like the rest of your metadata, either with your app version or as a standalone submission through Asset Library.
- Can I upload a video instead of an image?
- Yes, both placements accept video. See the video specs guide for sizes, lengths and formats.
- What should I check if my image won't upload?
- The two things the specifications are strict about: the exact pixel size for the placement, and no alpha channel.
