Product page header size for iOS apps

Updated

Starting with iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, an app's product page can open with a large header image above the icon and screenshots. It's the first thing people see when they land on your page, so it sets the tone for everything below it.

The header image must be exactly 3840 x 1646 pixels, a 21:9 aspect ratio, saved as PNG or JPG with no transparency. The same image is used on iPhone and iPad in every orientation, and parts of it can be clipped depending on the device. Anything important, especially text, belongs inside the safe area in the middle of the canvas.

Questions

What size is the product page header?
3840 x 1646 pixels, aspect ratio 21:9. Other sizes are not accepted.
Where is the safe area?
The official template marks a safe area of 1646 x 661 pixels, starting 1097 pixels from the left and 493 from the top. Keep text, logos and your focal point inside it.
Can the header have a transparent background?
No. Images can't include alpha channels or transparency, so export a flattened PNG or a JPG.
Do I need separate images for iPhone and iPad?
No. One header image serves every device and orientation. That's why the safe area matters: keep key elements inside it so they aren't clipped.
Can I use one image for the header and search results?
Yes, with a universal creative asset (5244 x 2950 pixels, 16:9). See the universal asset guide.
